Jennifer Bryk · Board & CEO Advisor
One important business question. A useful next move.
Sometimes leadership has already spent weeks discussing an issue. The question is what information is needed to make the next responsible decision.
When an investment isn't delivering, a decision involving several departments keeps returning, or a new opportunity changes the options, Jennifer works with the people accountable to establish what can be decided now and what should wait for better evidence.
How the work runs
Jennifer works directly with the people accountable for the decision. Together you agree on the question and the evidence needed to answer it well. From there the work may include targeted research, conversations with key people, a comparison of the realistic options, or help turning the decision into something the business can execute.
The engagement is bounded and paid, and can be completed in as little as three business days, depending on client and advisor availability.
What you can leave with
What the work produces depends on the question and the evidence. It can include:
- A sharper question. The result or decision leadership needs to address, and what a good answer would require.
- Evidence and assumptions. What is known, what is uncertain, and which dependencies or tradeoffs matter most.
- Realistic options. Continue, change direction, test first, bring in a specialist or stop, with the implications of each.
- A decision and its owner. A written decision record, who owns what happens next, and the signals leadership should watch as the work continues.
If the right answer is that your team can handle it, or that a specialist should, you will hear that. Further work is not assumed.
Three situations where focused work helps
Each starts with a question leadership already recognizes.
-
The investment is complete. Where is the expected benefit?
A system, acquisition or improvement program is done, and the operating or financial result has not followed.
-
The meeting ends. The decision comes back.
A choice that affects several parts of the business keeps returning to the leadership table.
-
A new capability changes what's possible. What should the business build?
AI, a market shift or a customer expectation makes a new result or operating approach possible.
Who it suits
A CEO, owner, Board leader or PE partner with one live question that reaches beyond a single function, who wants an informed, independent view before committing further.
Tell Jennifer what's on the table.
Choose a time for a private conversation, or write first. A few lines about the question and when it needs to be settled is enough.
